PLAN FIRST! provides birth control and related sexual health care services to women who qualify by income. Services available through this program include:
• Office visits for exams & tests
• Pregnancy testing & counseling
• Emergency contraception
• Birth control supplies & devices
• Lab tests
• Sterilizations for women 21 and older
Thanks to the Michigan Medicaid Family Planning Waiver Program, you might qualify to get these services at no cost to you.
Family planning is more than just birth control. It includes screening services that help find serious health problems like low blood iron, high blood pressure, breast & cervical cancer and infections.
Who Qualifies?
With PLAN FIRST!, Michigan women who are:
• age 19-44
• U.S. citizens or certain qualified legal residents
• are Michigan residents
• meet monthly family income limits
• not receiving Medicaid
• not insured
• and who are not pregnant
can receive family planning services and birth control absolutely FREE!
What do I Need to Provide to Qualify?
You need information about the following to apply for PLAN FIRST!:
• Family income
• Original birth certificate or current passport
• Social security number
• Age
• Marital status
• Living arrangements
• Child care cost

Who Can I See for these Services?
Any Medicaid-certified provider can offer the PLAN FIRST! services. You can receive services from:
• Family planning clinics
• Health departments
• Private medical practices
• Federally qualified health centers
How do I Apply for PLAN FIRST?
You must submit a signed application. You may apply for these benefits in person at Planned Parenthood of South Central Michigan, or download the application here. |
