Protect Family Planning Funding
Family planning saves taxpayer money. Every $1
spent on family planning saves an estimated $3 in Medicaid
costs for pregnancy related and newborn care.
Family planning and
pregnancy prevention funds have seen hundreds of thousands of
dollars in cuts in recent years, and there are rumors that
additional cuts may be made in this year's Department of
Community Health budget. Michigan is already failing to provide
services to 60% of the population in need of publicly funded
contraceptive services.

Oppose Senate Bill 1059
THIS BILL HAS BEEN PASSED BY THE SENATE
CONTACT MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE TO OPPOSE THIS BILL.
Advanced as an attempt to prevent so-called "judge-shopping," this unnecessary and dangerous bill is a direct attack on a young woman's health and safety. Furthermore, such legislation disregards those situations in which a young woman is put physically or emotionally at risk by government-mandated disclosure of her pregnancy and yet again inserts politicians into delicate family situations.
