Planned Parenthood of South Central Michigan was founded in 1966 and is currently governed by an elected 14 member Board of Directors who represent the diverse communities we serve. The board establishes policies, strategic plans and develops and authorizes program initiatives.
We are an accredited member of Planned Parenthood Federation of America which serves over 5,000,000 women, teens and men throughout all 50 states at 900 health centers.
Planned Parenthood of South Central Michigan is:
- A not-for-profit organization whose mission is to ensure the availability of the highest quality comprehensive reproductive and related health care services, while protecting the privacy and rights of individuals.
- A high quality, low cost provider who serves insured, uninsured, low income and adolescent populations.
- A leader in providing education, training programs and resources which promote an understanding of human sexuality, including its related societal and cultural aspects.
- An advocate and promoter of public policies that allow for privacy and accessibility of these services.
PPSCM's Mission
To ensure the availability of comprehensive reproductive and related health care services which protect the privacy and rights of each individual and to ensure that every child is wanted through personal choice.
